The project will include the renovation of the 1940 historic courthouse including the courthouse
addition that was added in 1976, as well as the West Annex Building, which was constructed in 2003.
The Angleton Courthouse campus is comprised of courts, judicial support, service departments,
financial operations, County development groups and financial operations of Brazoria County. The
total campus sits in portions of nine (9) city blocks, and within these nine (9) blocks, are additional
properties available for utilization.
The 60,189 square foot historical section of the main Courthouse building was constructed in 1940.
In 1976, the 67,650 square foot addition was constructed. The Angleton campus also includes the
45,564 square foot West Annex building which was constructed in 2003.
Project SCOPE includes: 1) New Administration Building (130,000 SF), 2) Expansion of 1976
Courthouse (55,000 SF), 3) Renovation of existing 1976's Wing Courthouse (68,000 SF) 4) Renovation
of existing 1940's Courthouse (60,000 SF), 5) Renovation of existing West Annex Building (45,000 SF),
6) Construction of new Emergency Operations Center (13,600 SF), and New associate
landscaping/parking. New Administration Building is being designed as a structural steel frame with
metal panels, stone, and glazing façade. The New EOC is being designed as a load bearing CMU
structure.
Unconfirmed - Existing 1940's Wing = original construction concrete. Existing 1976 Wing = Structural
Steel.
Phasing and Staged delivery of portions of the project will be required.
